is聽a聽filmmaker聽and journalist living on聽Hawai鈥檌聽Island.聽Her聽works聽depict聽the critical links between cultural, Film, and spiritual聽survival聽in the聽movement聽for Hawaiian self-determination and聽Indigenous peoples鈥櫬爏truggles聽for territorial and environmental聽survival.聽She聽is聽an outspoken advocate for Indigenous self-representation in mass media. Keala is聽a Ted Scripps Environmental Journalism Fellow and聽has聽an聽MFA聽from UCLA鈥檚 School of Theater, Film and Television.
